Shining C Music Studio follows the New Zealand school term calendar. Lessons are charged per term. Fees are payable at the beginning of each term.

Frequently Asked Questions
What age can my child start?
Piano lessons start from age 4.5 and guitar from age 6. Violin, guzheng, ukulele and music theory suit all ages, and adults are welcome too.
How long is each lesson?
Piano lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Violin is 30 to 60 minutes, and ukulele 30 or 45 minutes. Group classes are available for piano, guitar and music theory, and violin also offers duet (1-to-2) lessons.
Can we try a lesson first?
Yes. Book a 30-minute trial lesson using the Book Trial Lesson button or the contact form.
How much are lessons?
Fees depend on the instrument, the lesson length and whether it’s an individual or group lesson. Send us a message through the contact form, or book a trial lesson, and we’ll send you the current fees.
What if we need to miss a lesson?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Lessons cancelled with less notice are forfeited, unless due to illness (with a medical certificate) or an emergency. Make-up lessons are offered at the teacher’s discretion, subject to availability.
How do we stop lessons?
We need two weeks’ written notice. Enrolment carries on into the next term unless you let us know before the current term ends.
Do you prepare students for exams?
Yes. We prepare students for ABRSM piano and music theory exams.
